Faculty of Natural and Engineering Science

Faculty of Natural and Engineering Science encompasses departments that conduct educational and scientific work in a wide range of applied and fundamental research areas: from developing alternative sources of energy and creating new materials to solving fundamental problems in physics and chemistry, from exploring the Earth’s interior to understanding the laws of the Universe.

The Faculty employs more than 250 professors, docents and lecturers, among whom are scientists of international renown. Some 500 students study under their guidance and receive Bachelor’s, Master’s or Specialist’s degrees. High level of education makes our alumni sought-after in different spheres.

Dynamics of modern society, growing demand for high-tech specialists, continuous and significant changes in technology raise the requirements for quality and content of education to a whole new level. Not only modern alumni need sufficient training, but they also require social competence that will ensure greater mobility, flexibility and adaptivity of their knowledge, which, in turn, will serve as a basis for successful professional activity.

The Faculty’s students establish contacts with potential employers (enterprises and organizations on the basis of which work, production and research practice is conducted) as early as at the stage of writing their theses. This gives the students an opportunity to prove themselves and gain a foothold in a collective before the end of studies. More than 90% of our alumni find employment, and 80% work according to their specialty. Among our partners are: JINR, State Machinery Design Bureau «Raduga», resident companies of Special Economic Zone «Dubna», Research Institute «Applied Acoustics», Research Institute «Atoll» and others.
