With the release of the Moscow International University Ranking “The Three University Missions” for 2019, Dubna State University lists 42nd among the 74 Russian universities that have been included. In total, the ranking lists 1200 universities from 79 countries.
Dubna State University has earned a place among the world’s best universities together with the Belgorod State National Research University, All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Plekhanov University of Economics, Saint-Petersburg Mining University, Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University and others. Dubna State University is the only university of the Moscow region to be included in the ranking.
The Moscow International University Ranking assesses the three university missions of every institution: education, research and interaction with society. The ranking was created in September 2016 on the initiative of the Russian Union of Rectors in accordance with the instruction of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
The leading universities of the ranking are located in USA (212 universities), China (111), United Kingdom (94), Russia (74) and Japan (65).
Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Pennsylvania hold the first three places in the list. These institutions receive the largest amounts of funding and produce the most cited articles. The fifth and the sixth places are held by the finest institutions of Britain, the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. The majority of the universities on the list is located in Europe (414).
Three Russian universities – Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint-Petersburg State University and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology – hold the 22nd, 41st and 51st places accordingly.
